Several people have reported difficulty in logging in to the blog (though I can see that lots of you logged in with no problem!). There are a couple of possibilities for why you might be having trouble—we may have input your email address incorrectly, you may be using a different email address than we have on file, or your browser is helping you out by saving an old cookie from the 2007 site.
First things first, if you’re getting an error message about cookies, or are having trouble logging in and were a member in 2007, try clearing your cookies for this site. We know this is an ugly, boring, technical task. But you’ve knit sock patterns way more complicated than this!
Here’s how to get rid of the cookie:
In Firefox: Click on Tools > Options > Privacy and click the Show Cookies button. You’ll get a list of all your cookies, sorted alphabetically. Scroll down to the rockinsockclub.com cookie, select it, and click Remove Cookies.
In Internet Explorer 7: Click on Tools > Internet Options > General tab > Select the Settings button from the Browsing History section. This opens another window; click the View Files button. You’ll see a list of all your cookies. If you sort your cookies by Internet Address, you should be able to find the rockinsockclub.com cookie. Select it and hit the Delete key on your keyboard.
In Internet Explorer 6: Click on Tools > Internet Options > General tab > Click the Settings button in the Temporary Internet files section. This opens another window; click the View Files button. You’ll see a list of all your cookies. If you sort your cookies by Internet Address, you should be able to find the rockinsockclub.com cookie. Select it and hit the Delete key on your keyboard.
In Safari: Preferences > Security tab > click the Show Cookies button. You’ll see a list of your cookies; find the rockinsockclub.com cookie, select it, and hit the Delete key.
In Camino: Preferences > Privacy tab > click the Show Cookies button. You’ll see a list of your cookies; find the rockinsockclub.com cookie, select it, and hit the Delete key.
After you’ve cleared the old cookie, try logging into the site again.
If you still can’t get in, or you think we might have the wrong address for your, head on over to the Contact page and and let us know what email address you would like to use to login with by sending a message with technical support in the subject line. We’ll try to get you all blogging just as quickly as possible!

The first time I log in, it complains to me about cookies, and another login username/password page comes up. I just typed my information in and check the “remember me” box and it goes through the second time. (This happened to me both on my Mac at home and my PC at work.)
Same thing happened to me when I tried to log in. It worked on the second screen. And here I am, so obviously I made it in.
yep. same here.
also in mac when looking to remove cookies, click on Firefox/Preferences/Privacy. you’ll see a section on cookies.
