My RSC membership was a gift from my kids and paid for by them by check. Is there any way to tell if there’s a problem with this payment or if I’m OK? Can I assume that you have my payment if I can login to the Blog?

I just don’t want to be dropped without knowing about it….

Thanks,
Mary

The memberships that have issues have been contacted by us. If you have not been contacted than you are fine!

Knowing that sometime in the near future my first ever sock club kit is going to arrive is making me happy. Although, the suspense is killing me! :)

We could knit Mailbox Cozies while we’re waiting!
Maybe I’m on to something–over 2000 mailboxes covered in STR!
That would make the mail people smile as we chase them down!

i love the idea of mailbox cozies! i’ve been thinking about outdoor knitting ideas for all the utilitarian elements on the street. a mailbox cozy would fit right in. plus make the mailman smile, i would think.

I seriously need to knit a mailbox cozy.

I see a mailbox cozy trend starting.

So L-B, does it have to be STR or could it be a thicker BMFA yarn? For the mailbox cozy, I mean.

I’m thinking modular patchwork with Club leftovers!
But, Leticia would make it extra-snuggly!

Just because I am dying of curiosity: I am awaiting my FIRST EVER STR package and I was wondering how long international shipping takes? SO, if the package was mailed this week, can I start freaking out when I go to the mailbox next week, or the week after that? Or di I have to wait three weeks? I think I can’t stand that!!! I will make everyone CRAZY by telling them: “Perhaps today my package is coming” for weeks on end!!!

Really depends where you live! Usually a week or 10 days apart from us poor unfortunate souls in the UK who had to wait at least 4 weeks for our last package as they got caught up in the Christmas post. This isn’t the norm though thankfully. Reminds me, did anyone at Blue Moon hear back from the postmaster about the delay?

Nice to see so many familiar faces and welcome to all newbies ;)

On January 23rd, 2008 at 4:28 am Bec said:

Woohoo. In good old Australia here so fingers crossed the package won’t be too far away lol! :)

On January 23rd, 2008 at 5:49 am Tina Newton said:

We did hear back from the Postmaster. He said that all of the international sock club packages left the US at the same time. The hold was on the UK end of things and he could not get a definitive answer except they were backlogged.

We will assume this was a holiday fluke. Usually it is Canada that is the last to get their shipments.

International packages did not ship yesterday as hoped they will go out today.
With the rest following right behind.
I always forget how long this first one takes to get out.

Newbie here! I made my first pair of not plain jane socks over the holdidays (that’s a dirty lie, the second isn’t quite done) and I am HOOKED on fun socks so I can’t WAIT to get started!

On January 23rd, 2008 at 10:06 am oogie said:

My first sock club ever! I’ve only knitted 3 pairs of socks in my entire life so hopefully I’ll be able to manage with the patterns. Can’t wait to get my kit! Love the mailbox cozy idea…but first i’ll need to get a mailbox! :P

I don’t think a mailbox cozy would stay on the aluminum vertical door of my apartment mailbox. Maybe I could knit a mailbox door warmer and attach it with elastic (it’s indoors, so no weather worries). My RSC packages and all bigger-than-a-magazine stuff is delivered to my doormat rather than my box, so maybe I need a front door cozy? I do keep meaning to crochet various holiday wreaths from a booklet of cute Sugar and Cream patterns…

How long should I wait before I start to panic over my credit card not being billed for a domestic membership. I haven’t been contacted by email, so I am guessing everything is ok?

On January 23rd, 2008 at 2:50 pm Jocelyn said:

This is my first club, too (sock or otherwise). I’m so excited I can hardly stand it! I keep wondering what the colors will be, what the pattern will look like — I’m clearing my plate of all other knitterly projects so that I’m ready. You can imagine me sitting on my couch, dpns clutched in my hot little hands, staring down the driveway… (is that pitiful?)

On January 23rd, 2008 at 3:08 pm LBinVA said:

Jocelyn, this is my third year in the Rockin’ Sock Club and I still feel the same thrill, excitement, anticipation as I did with my very first package! But,speaking from experience, remember to set those dpns aside before you fall asleep…..and don’t ask why I say that. ;-)

On January 23rd, 2008 at 4:34 pm Tan said:

L-B, I thinkit’s a good thing you haven’t switched to magic loop. If you fall asleep with a big circular needle in bed you could strangle yourself!

I managed to log in today and hopefully I’ll be able to tomorrow ! ! ! this is my third year and the first time I’ve been able to post, a very good feeling indeed.
