Wow, am I the first one? I am in Forest Grove, OR, so fairly close to Scappoose.

This is my first year with the club, and my first shipment, and I am thrilled! I’m off to check out the pattern and goodies!

Linda

P.S. Colors are beautiful…

JEALOUS!!! Now I’m going to have to stay away in fear of seeing something I don’t wanna see. Last year I was all over the spoiler pics b/c I wasn’t in the club. This year I need to be careful:)

That’s hilarious, since Tina just posted that all packages are officially out today. Hmm…how long till they make it to the East Coast?

Me too, I’m in WA, and I’m going to the post office tomorrow! Just in case… ;)

WA here too. Wonder if the kits were shipped in priority bags or boxes for returning members. The bags fit in my locking box out on the main road but the boxes don’t. The mail truck can’t make it up our lane without getting stuck since the last wash-out, so she usually calls from her cell phone with a “meet me at the bottom of the hill if you want your yarn today message.”

Everyone was talking about mailbox cozy covers, but I’m thinking about knitting a well deserved hat for my mail lady. We live 2/10ths of a mile off the main road, and up a steep hill. We really appreciate her, and miss her on her days off.

Happy knitting everyone. Glad to see all the familiar names back for another year, and to the newbies - WELCOME- and hope you enjoy the great yarn and the rockin socks as much as I do.
The character of the club is an added bonus.

New to the sock club…salivating and feeling like a kid on Christmas Eve…I don’t know if I can wait this long!!!!!!

On January 25th, 2008 at 5:27 am Tina said:

Hey RaeDean If you did not order a binder they went out in the usual Priority bags, if you did order a binder it went out in a box. All of them went out within a 48 hour period.

The knitted mailbox cozies could be put on the mailboxes when the shipment is expected, it alerts the postal carrier that there is a “excited” sock knitter waiting ever so patiently.:)

RaeDean, Instead of a hat how about giving the mail lady a pair of socks?

Darn thoes west-coasters…. Everytime I hear a truck pass the house, I’ve been running to the door. Nada so far… I hope it gets here before the weekend.

On January 25th, 2008 at 7:22 am RaeDean said:

Hey Tina, I didn’t order a new binder this year, so guess mine will be in the bag. yeah! I got the whole mailbox cozy thing but my mail lady knows all about my yarn club thing and she understands that I have a yarning (get it?) and she enables me quite well. However or whenever my shipment gets here, I’ll be ready, and my needles will be a humming. There is always room for more Blue Moon here at GooseHollow. It’s colder than _______ outside, but it’s warm and toasty in here, just the perfect environment for that yummy yarn. Have a great weekend. RD

TO FELLOW CANADIANS…
Don’t you know that there is a ton of knitters that are Custom Officers? That is the only reason I can think of as to why its slow to cross the border. Our yarn is being fondled….so the answer is this Vancouver BC knitter has not received, so its sitting at the Peace Arch Border Crossing being fondled….

I got mine in CT and it is gorgeous. I can’t wait to start this pair. I am knitting each pattern this year. I don’t know why I have a fear of using the sock club yarn. I know that there is more, so this year I am knitting each pattern. Right after I finish the socks on the needles these are going on.

Happy knitting…..

Boy, are we knitters an impatient group or what? I’m in Los Gatos CA near San Jose and haven’t received mine yet - hopefully it will be there when I get home today and I can hardly stand the suspense (I’m a newbie so really excited to see what is included in a shipment) However I have 3 WIP for a new grandbaby that is due any day so can’t cast on until I finish those. So why am I so impatient - just because.

The suspense is killing me. I live across the river from Portland Or and 3 blocks from my post office–but——the mail doesn’t get here until after 4pm-close to the last stop before the end of the delivery day. BooHoo—-I could go downstairs to Starbucks and sip a latte while looking out the window for the mail truck. alas life is really tough sometimes.

This my first ever club package. I thought of some spy show from TV history while I was opening the plain sealed paper packet-”your mission, should you choose to accept it…” went through my head! It of course contained the pattern, dyer notes and sock camp info. Everything is delightful, and I plan to start just as soon as I finish the 2 pairs I currently have on the needles- but they are close to done!! How many of us are there in this year’s club?

I got mine today (well, technically it was yesterday, since it is now 1:20am in the morning!) and I LOVE this kit! I still love my Salish Sea kit from last shipment, but I believe this one is getting kicked ahead of it. More because I think Cat’s pattern will require a bit more “think” time and I want to get these done!

Mine arrived yesterday! (Richmond VA) It’s beautiful as always. Thanks BMFA ladies. Half a sock to finish and then I can cast on. Oh why don’t I just buy another set of addi ones?

Leslie, Cat’s pattern doesn’t require any real think time - once you get going it makes up real quick (quicker than other patterns from last year). Watch the YouTube demo on the cast on which breaks it down in simple to follow/easy to get directions and you are off.

He came back 15 minutes later as I was putting her down for her nap - he said he overlooked it and turned around to bring it back!

Mine arrived in the SF bay area today. This color is sooo not something I’d have bought for myself or probably anyone I know for that matter, but intellectually it sure is pretty. I believe I’ll try knitting it up in the pattern designed for it. But I may end up giving the finished socks to a friend of mine instead of keeping them. Time will tell… Certainly today with all the rain knitting it seems very attractive.

It’s here! It arrived about 2 PM on the 26th, and I’ve been petting it and knitting ever since. Mine included the binder, so that may have slowed it up a little. My husband Rich wants some socks with this yarn, too. (His email ID is dancing dragon, and his mother raised her kids color coded…red is for Richard. How soon can I order some for him? He can’t have MINE…

Almost forgot to mention! Inside my label is the little dragon stamp with the name Ramoth. As I remember it, Ramoth is the golden queen dragon in the first Anne McCaffrey Draonriders of Pern book…

It’s here! Got it, in Cupertino, California! I love the pattern, yarn, and the extras. The package came around 3pm on the 26th but I wasn’t home. It was a nice surprise to see it when I got home!

Mine arrived yesterday. Quite the exciting delivery - and for once, I actually heard it when the mail carrier knocked to let me know he had a package for me!

Great stuff - So far I’ve only let myself open & read everything and wind the yarn. (I have a big project that I’m trying to move along.) The yarn looks even yummier in cake form than in its putup form.

It’s nice to be here!

This is my first year with the club and my box came this morning. We have had a lot of packages in the past few days I didn’t realize it was THIS box until I opened it and promptly woke my husband up with excitement. (Who then of course got to go through the box with me - one of those perks of living in a small space :) )

I have to say I love the color and the justification for the color. I grew up in the SF Bay Area and Chinese New Year was one of my favorite times. While New Orleans has equally colorful, historical, and eventful (that by some strange twist of the calendar happen to be going on now - a.k.a. Mardi Gras) there is nothing like a little reminder of childhood/”home.”

Received mine yesterday here in NC. It’s lovely. I recently gave a red sock yarn to a friend for xmas. I’m excited to get a new one.

I received mine yesterday after a 11 hour day at work. I waited until all 5 children were asleep to open. This is my first year, I loved all the info and goodies. I did not get any info on “Sock Camp”? Did everyone else get camp info? I love the RED! For those who stated they don’t usually gravitate towards this color–keep the socks for yourself! We all need a kick your heels wild sock in our drawer! I am loving this gift to me/from me!! Grandville Michigan is rockin’ now!

Mine touched down in NJ yesterday on my birthday! After reading posts on Friday, and knowing the the gifts that my husband ordered for me had arrived had been hidden, I thought that he had hidden my STR too. Turns out he didn’t, but the package did arrive before we had to head out for the day. So excited!! I’ve never knit socks before, but am enamored by the colors that BMFA produces. Can’t wait to cast on!

Mine arrived yesterday in Northern Virginia and I love the color! This is my first year, my daughter gave it to me as a Christmas gift to keep me busy after I retire at the end of the month (Friday), but don’t think I can wait! Hope to start today.

My box of yarny love arrived in Minneapolis Sat afternoon. I opened it on the spot, reached in and grabbed the yarn. Mmmmm. Wow! Wonderful! Amazing! Despite the heatwave, I’m going to be socking at every available moment.

Please, if you’re an International Member, hollar when you receive your package-inquiring minds….
