International Shipping Timeline?

January Kit Questions | January 28, 2008
By Knit & Purl Mama

I was just wondering if International shipment were going out at the same time as USA shipments? Last year I never received my kit “later” than everyone else, and being in Canada, I haven’t seen any sign of it yet. I was just wondering if they were going out in the mail a few days earlier than USA to arrive at “about the same time” as the USA kits?

Just wondering and excited for Kit number 1 of 2008!

From what I remember from earlier in the blog Tina mentioned that they might mix up the shipping groups more than usual this year. Also that some of the Canadian memberships where processed through the bank later than the others. The way it sounds over on the “it’s here” comments things may depend more on the intermediate distribution/sorting/customs centers than on when Blue Moon ships the kits. Hold strong that your kit will come but you might want to e-mail if it hasn’t come by the end of the week. That is true for any USA member (unless you had one of the e-mails from BMFA about your address or CC) I don’t know when overseas members should hoist a flag and send an e-mail but probably a week after the first overseas person announces receipt of their kit. hth and Happy Knitting, Alice

If it makes you feel any better, I live in Kansas and haven’t gotten mine yet. People all the way on the east coast did days ago but still nothing for me :(

Yes, we do usually ship the international ones at least a week earlier than domestic. Because this is the first shipment of the year with binders and lots of processing we ran short on time. So everyone went out in a 48 hour period. We also have had quite a nasty winter so we took advantage of clear skies so everything would get out.
In the future the international packages will go a week earlier than the domestic ones.
I apologize for change this time.

I know a few of us in Canada received them yesterday, so I’m sure you can’t be that far behind. In the comments some people in Vancouver got their packages and I’m in Thunder Bay, Ontario and mine came with my regular mail yesterday.
