Notorious Sock Knitters | January 28, 2008
Well after a weekend of waiting, the yarn finally arrived in the northern part of California’s central valley, Oakdale to be exact. Got home from work, fixed dinner and now, finally at 9 pm I am going to get down to knitting to check my gauge. Never did that before until Cat convinced me to check it out when I was able to float around the San Juan Islands last fall. What an eyeopener. And I thought I was consistent. Off to the trenches

Hey! I’m in Modesto - glad to know there’s someone nearby!
No sock content to this reply, but I was born in Modesto and my grandparents (now deceased) had a family ranch in Oakdale. I spent many fall and spring there. The rest of the family, cousins and such still live there. It’s not a dairy, it’s a honey farm. I miss that area, except the walnut and oak trees.
