I’ll definitely be haunting the mailbox next week!  I’m very excited to be a part of the club this year.  Last year’s socks were so pretty.

What will happen if I use a W?

Notorious Sock Knitters | January 16, 2008
By Susie Gardner

img_1108.jpgMembers of the 2007 blog will remember that we had some problems with the blog. The oddest one involved posts whose titles started with a W. We don’t really know why, but those posts didn’t end up being displayed properly in the blog.

Hence this post. I’m testing to see whether it will actually show up, and if I’ll be able to leave a comment on it successfully. Cross your fingers!

While I’m at it, I’m going to test the file uploading functionality, so here is a picture of some of my other favorite things (besides knitting): bed, cat, books.

My cat is named Aimee.

We’re back!

Announcements | January 16, 2008

Welcome everyone to the Rockin’ Sock Club® 2008 and our brand new blog.
Isn’t it pretty?!

I missed you guys! Although with all of the sock club registrations and payment going on I kind of feel like you are sitting right here at my desk with me.

I really like this blog upgrade and hope that you do also. I think it addresses a lot of the issues we had in 2007 and will be much easier to use. We wanted something that everyone could be comfortable with. This is why we stayed with WordPress instead of making a drastic change to something completely different. This blog post contains a little bit of info on the workings of it and some news on the registration payment front. Mostly though, the blog Help pages are where you will find the best directions for blog usage.

Login: There are clear and easy to follow instructions in the blog help pages, which you do not need to login to access. Follow those for logging in. You’ll also find detailed instructions on posting to the blog, adding photos, and using the blog in general.
If your login does not work and you sent you registration info in before November 9th then please email us your email addy so we can put you in the blog database. If you sent your registration in after January 9th then please wait until Monday the 21st and check again. We should have received your registration and have it entered into the database by then.

We have changed the Category names so they are a little more clearly defined.
We laid the chicken theme to rest. :( Your posting category is Notorious Sock Knitters.

We also have two wonderful blog moms this year to help us keep it all together.
Alice in the heartland and Neuroknitter. Both embody essential mom characteristics. You can contact them through the Contact page.

All of the BMFA posts will be in boxed in blue, including the RSCmoms.

Here is a little information from the RSC payment department: We are still in the process of depositing checks and running charges. There are about 200 charges left to run. This will most likely take the rest of this week.

I understand that you are anxious about your memberships, however if everyone emails or calls it takes away from valuable charge-running time. None of us want that. Let’s say that if you do not see a charge by the 18th of January then email us at sockclub@bluemoonfiberarts.com. We will then put on our (knit) problem solving hats and straighten it out. I left wiggle room so no worries – everyone’s spot is there and safe.

If you have received an email or phone call from us about payment it is because there is some issue with your credit card and we need to hear from you, now. If we do not hear back from you we will assume that you are no longer interested in being in the club.

Breathe with me: In with the lovely-bright-sparkling-sock-yarn-filled air out with the not-so-good, will-be-deprived-of-sock-yarn-ever-again air. There, feel better! I know I do.

The binders are here, everything is back from the printers, yarn dyed such a yummy color, (insert evil grin here) and the Sockateers show up today to help put it all together so we can start shipping it out to you next week.

Because they take so much longer the international ones always go first. Then we usually start with the east coast and work our way west. We will most likely mix it up this year and leave you guessing. I see a shipping contest in your future.

Thank you, Susie (RSC member) and Lisa at Hop Studios for being so wonderful to work with and doing such a great job.

Well, I think that covers most of it. I am sure I forgot something, but guess what I can post again tomorrow. Woohoo!
