Notorious Sock Knitters | January 29, 2008
I am going through a particularly stressful time at work. So, I have my little skein of emergency sock yarn in my vest pocket-just squeezing it and scrunching it a few times now and then is really de-stressing me! Sort of like my old “blankie” when I was a kid . . . so, am I weird or just a normal fiber loving knitter? Whatever I am -it’s working! Cheers to you all!

Well, I just snapped yet another tiny dpn. I’ve been using Brittany dpn’s since I started knitting socks, but it seems that with the smaller sizes (0, 1) I put too much pressure on them and they can’t take it! I like the feel of wood/bamboo, but maybe I need to switch to something else, at least for the littler needles. Any suggestions for what to purchase instead?

What can I do to prevent the twist? Am I winding incorrectly? I had this problem last year also. Is it the way I am putting it on the swift and is there a secret to that? Or is there a specific way to wind it off the swift. Thanks to everyone who has an idea. I hate to stop every so often and unwind my sock.

I need help with the lace pattern round 15. I am a new member and have only been knitting a few months. I did fine until I got to this point. I am knitting using the magic loop method and have 33 stitches on each needle. All has been well until I try to work this round. I end up short at the end of the round. I K4, then SSK twice, then k2, yo, k1, yo, and then ( I think this may be an issue) I knit one. It says KO. I have looked everywhere in the pattern and on the internet and I can’t find this abbreviation anywhere, so I am assuming this means knit one. Well, once I do this through the round on each needle I end up with only one stitch left after the SSK of the last repeat. HELP!!

I am new to the club this year and am very excited about the whole experience. I have started on my socks. Yeah! I am still a newby to this whole knitting thing. I only started last summer. My Bff Erin taught me how to knit as well as gifted the sock club membership to me for Christmas.
I am not sure if I will be able to make the socks well, but I will try. I am sure I will need some help/encouragement along the way.
