January Kit Questions | February 14, 2008
For me, this yarn wanted to be something resembling fire. So I started experimenting and came up with a sock pattern that’s slowly progressing. Take a look and tel me what you think.
The January pattern is nice and I’ll probably use it with some other yarn at some point, but for me, this yarn wanted to be something different. ![]()

Hmm, link doesn’t want to work. Here’s the address:

Those are looking quite nice! Really do try out seredipity on a different yarn. Its an enjoyable pattern.
Neat! I’m using the yarn for a different pair of socks too. And I second what Melisa said, I used different yarn for the serendipity socks and I’m quite happy! good luck!
I do think it looks like flames - it’s great!! Please post when you have them done.
I’m enjoying Serendipity, so I agree with the others that it would be fun to use on another yarn.
I interpreted this pattern as flames as well, well flickers of fire. I worked the pattern toe-up, as you are doing, so Seredipity came out upside down. I adjusted the repeat slightly, and I call my socks “Flame Dance”. I am almost finished (I had to order more yarn because I like my socks a bit longer, and it came yesterday) and I will post a picture somewhere if I can figure out how to do it. I am really a novice at picture posting and blogs.
I just got started on mine last night (I am late starting, my mother had surgery and I have been in OK for a week) and am loving the pattern. Since this is my first year in the Club, I wanted to use the yarn sent for the pattern sent, but I think too that it does look like fire. But Seredipity is a fun pattern and would be fun in a hot pink or lime green for summer!
Happy Knitting everyone~

Looks nice to me–yes, I can see the flames. BTW, there may be a problem with the link in your post. This one worked, and took me to the Feb 14 post: http://knitforjoy.blogspot.com/
