Donna: It all works out. You knit 36 to start the pattern, knit 33 in pattern, and then knit 33 again, so the pattern will be centered and match up with the pattern on the leg. I was confused by the same thing, but once you place your markers it will make sense. Happy knitting!

Can someone just clarify for me the directions above. After I finish the w&t stuff, I have 37 stitches between the last double wrap. So I slip the last double wrapped stitch and then knit 36? I am confused. Can someone spell it out stitch by stitch. The amazing thing is that I managed to knit one sock with no problems and now on the second sock I have no idea what I’m doing.
Thank the knitting goddess that I JUST read this now and only have to frog about 36 stitches (and 3 I added cause I didn’t know what else to do). WHEW.
