Oh where, oh where have my sock-a-teers gone?
Oh where, oh where can they be?
With their double-points so short and their socks so long,
Oh, please send their feets back to me!
last i saw them they were swinging from the light fixtures at the santa clara convention center. they were having a good ‘ol time!!! do you all know how high up those lights are?!!
i gave them all a hug and told them to tell ya “hi” when they got home. they are the cutest things. thank you for letting them come to california to play.
you are very lucky that the weather is just horrible this weekend so i doubt that they will really want to stay down here much longer. now, if it were april or may, you might never see them again!
and the booth was almost empty on my last swing by on thursday night. send more yarn!!!!!!!!!!
Saw them. Spoke with them. Bought yarn from them. Went back and bought more yarn. And patterns. They’re being kept busy restocking and selling….that’s a good thing, right?
And NOW I know what to do with my mini-skeins…loop them together for a necklace/nametag holder at stitches!
DONE! They are hugged! First thing I said to HotFlash was, “Hey! You wound my Lunasea at Camp!”-lol! I’m sure anyone who heard that randomly would have given strange looks, but you know-we were at a yarny gathering, afterall…
I wanted to see them at Purlescence this evening, only I wasn’t feeling well and decided not to make the trip, afterall. A big, nasty storm was predicted and not feeling 100%, I skipped the baby shower I was supposed to attend AND the Sockateer gathering, as well! (That would have been 50 miles driving NE, 70 miles SW, then 60 miles back home…and living in the San Francisco Bay Area, that would involve miscellaneous traffic, too…)
But sorry, Tina, we got them Sockateers! Don’t worry-they are being well-cared for! As was your booth! As usual, I had no self-control…
I’ve seen them everyday since Thursday!! Last I saw them, they were holding a precious little baby girl, playing with the cute doggie, knitting, drinking :), and trying to tempt me to go back for more yarn tomorrow!! Lots of hugs and laughs!! Thanks for sending them Tina, but we missed YOU!!
I saw them and their crazy monkeys yesterday and gave them all a hug. I wish I could have hung out with them at Purlescense, but I was on the Stitch ‘n Ride train and had to leave at 4:30. The booth looked wonderful (and a little bit empty–good news for you), and they were busy charming all the customers. They are a treasure! See you in April!

I finally made it in!!! Have had such a hard time getting in and gave up, but today it worked!!!
One of your Falkor’s here - just forced to do something else WAITING for the next shipment!!!
Being a confirmed toe upper, I almost flipped the January pattern (hee hee). I actually couldn’t remember what cast on I used to use that was loose enough for top down. Anyway to make a long story shorter??? I followed the pattern and learned some things.
So, Tina, never fear we are out here just waiting!!!!
It was great to see you at Madrona and show you my socks!!!
Hope you’ve recovered from the craziness in Tacoma and that the show was good for you!!!
I know I came away with my first skein of Silkie OOOH and some Star Sapphire STR for a Landscape shawl.
My favorite story from the Sockateers regaled us at Purlescence (all the while hogging some little baby carrying time) last night was when Cockeyed (I believe) tried to catch a falling display, didn’t quite manage it and the STR were rolling everywhere. So what do Stitches West attendees do? Bust out their digi cams to record the event.
They deserved that bottle of wine and the massage chair last night at Purlescence.

Newbie here. What’s a sockateer? I’d hug one if I knew what I was looking for.
You know, I think they may be missing–or lost in a yarn shop. I sent an email to one of them ages and ages ago and never got a response.
Is it lonely there without the Sockateers?
If I were lucky enough to be at Stitches, I would hug them for you.
They will be home soon, I’m sure, with lots of stories, and less yarn than they left with.
