I haven’t noticed any music on the blog so far this year, so I thought I’d share the song I hear in my head every time I check Blue Moon’s website. It’s Nanci Griffith (love her) singing Once in a Very Blue Moon. Sadly, it’s an incomplete recording. It’s from her tour in 1985. She’s got a beautiful voice that has really matured since then. Enjoy! Tricia
Hmm, I can’t get the youtube video to upload. Here’s the link!

It is my favorite song. I love Nancy and have been listening to her for years.
I play this song when I am low.
thanks so much
I have listened to this 4 times.
So, I wonder how many Blue Moon songs there are??
hmmm
Googled it. I found 6 so far. Blue Moon by Rogers & Hart, Blue Moon Over Kentucky, Blue Moon Baby, Once in a Very Blue Moon, When My Blue Moon Turns to Gold Again, Blue Moon Revisited. How’s that for starters? Happy Knitting, Alice
Tina,Is it, by any chance, the reason for the company name? Just curious. Nanci is also one of my favorites.
I also found Dolly parton singing the same song. It’s just not as good. Don’t get me wrong, I like Dolly OK but I LOVE Nanci!
Check out this one, Edie Brickell singing Once in a Blue Moon:
Edie Singing
Bingo Janet!
I don’t know if it’s the same song as the Edie Brickell one above (can’t listen here at work), but the “Simply Irresistible” movie soundtrack features a song called “Once in a Blue Moon” sung by a gal named Sydney Forrest. Very pretty tune.
“SI” is a guilty pleasure movie–a slightly fluffy, slightly woo-woo (in the supernatural good-witch sense) romantic comedy starring Sarah Michelle Gellar (of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame) and Sean Patrick Flanery (The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles). The soundtrack also has an interesting sort of trip-hop version of “Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered.” Good flick for a lighthearted evening of knitting.
