January Kit Questions | February 26, 2008

Does anybody have an opinion on the stretch-ability of STR lightweight ‘DragonDance’? Sock #2 is almost done and before I rip back #1’s a bit too tight toe….just wondering. Any and all insight appreciated.

Dear Tina,

I haven’t noticed any music on the blog so far this year, so I thought I’d share the song I hear in my head every time I check Blue Moon’s website. It’s Nanci Griffith (love her) singing Once in a Very Blue Moon. Sadly, it’s an incomplete recording. It’s from her tour in 1985. She’s got a beautiful voice that has really matured since then. Enjoy! Tricia

Hmm, I can’t get the youtube video to upload.  Here’s the link!

Hi everyone of you crazy rockin sock knitters. I am a first time rockin socker and I seem to be having some challenges with the size large pattern. I had trouble witht the count for the toe. I don’t see how you  get from 72 stitches to 76 stitches without increasing- anyway- Adjusting the pattern, I was able to make it work! Now I am having trouble with star toe. I am using the large size. How do you get from  76 stitches  to 66 with the decrease pattern in the directions for knit10, knit2together?  Can anoyone give a new rockin socker some help? Thanks much, Lynn

We came, we sold, we swung from the light fixtures…….

Well,  another Stitches West is over and we just got the van packed for the trip north…….barely.  HotFlash is drippy, the tires on the van are low (from all the stuff we bought……) and the dashboard looks alittle like a Foster Farms Chicken commercial.  We had a blast, saw a bunch of Sock Club members, and made some wonderful new friends!  If we weren’t almost out of yarn we’d be tempted to set up shop on the side of the road and sell out of the back of the van!   But back to work… there IS the next sock club coming sooner that we think and we need our Tina fix!  Just not the same on the phone as in person.  Love you Tina, thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to talk about what we love the most…knitting with your yarn.

I want to use the leftover yarn for another pair.  Using the extra for the ribbing, heel and toes but not sure what to use for the leg and foot.  I looked at some colors of BMFA and found Brick.  Would like some feedback on what BMFA lightweight yarn to cordinate with Dragon Dance….Thank you
