Nadine, I was told I could take 50 pounds on the seaplane. I better verify before I get there and find out I have to toss most of my clothes. 24 pounds isn’t much. I’ll have to use a paper bag as my suitcase.

Julie, I hope you are right. I asked about the seaplane from Lake Union to Rosario and he told me 24 pounds including carryon! A lightweight nylon bag is what I was thinking.

Last year they weighed bags on the out going leg at Lake Union but didn’t weigh bags on the return trip. Don’t know if that was because the plane wasn’t full coming back or if that’s just how they do things. Best to call and confirm with the seaplane operator (Kenmore Air). Don’t take anyone else’s word on this. Hope that helps you seaplane folks. Happy Knitting, Alice

FYI
There is also a land based airline that flies small planes directly from Boeing field (Seattle) to Longsound on Orcas. (I think it’s called Island Air). While the seaplanes can save a lot of travel time they do cost a bit more than the shuttle/ferry combination.
Another avenue to investigate is the water taxi. I only recommend this one if you have a large group to share the costs. The big advantage is that it takes you straight from Antecortes to Rosario dock and saves a bit of time too. The disadvantage is no car on the island. (But you don’t really need one.) Alice
Obviously, this isn’t the definitive list, but I emailed Tina while mid-move asking what supplies I should make sure were available for camp. She responded:
> I would bring circs ( Cat is teaching) and double points in 0 to 6. you do not have to have both in all of those sixes just so you have one. We will also have needles.
> And of course your knitting tools and that is about it.

Hi Nadine
I am going to post one this week.
Mostly needles and a swim suit.
Will we be doing underwater knitting? (is that kind of like underwater basketweaving?)

Hope that helps a bit!
