you probably mean green clothes, right? Or maybe just roll around in the moss. Virginia

Moss rolling is certainly a fun NW past time. Unfortunately it is way too cold for moss rolling in April.

I love green.

Moss rolling…sounds like a fun camp activity even if it’s too cold. That’s what hot chocolate is for. :o)

Clarification on that “Bring size O-6″ needles request… Do we need to bring one of *each* size between 0 and 6? Or a set/circ in any *one* size between 0 and 6? (In addition to the size #6 32″-40″ circs of item 3, of course.)

This homework is almost like the contest. I mean, you have to figure out how many stitches to cast on to go around the roll - it could be how many stitches to cast on to go around the elephant. I’m still in the thinking stage of homework.

Meg, bring what you would need to knit a sock (DP, circs, ML) in each of the needle sizes between 0 and 6 plus that long size 6 circular. Hope that’s the answer you were looking for. Alice

On March 17th, 2008 at 10:54 am Alice in the Heartland said:

P.S. That equals 7 or 8 sets of needles depending on whether you include the 2 different size one needles.

On March 18th, 2008 at 10:48 am Meg said:

Go it, Alice; that was indeed what I was looking for: 7 or 8 sets of needles, not just 2. Thanks!

Wait, wait, wait!

I’m in the middle of adjusting to a new job, a move across country, and buying a house (closing next week if all goes to plan!) so I confess I haven’t been paying as much attention as I normally would.

Our “bring to camp” list now includes tube socks?!? With or without color?

Any PDXers have any clues where I can buy these?

On March 23rd, 2008 at 5:12 pm Susan Sears said:

I hadn’t noticed that either and have the horrible feeling that tube socks only come in packs of 12 or maybe 100. So, Jen, I will search out a pair (maybe Kohl’s) and bring them as a house gift! Good luck with the house closing. S

I am going to go to Walmart this weekend to get the tube socks, are we looking at men’s or women’s tube socks. It has been so long since I purchase these socks. Dang I can get them at the PX so if I have to purchase a package of them I will bring the package if anyone forgets theirs that is if I don’t forget.

Nobody at our house wears tube socks, so I will be bringing a package of them if anyone else doesn’t bring one.

I finally found a package of tube socks at Walmart but they where men’s sock and in grey so I grabed them. There was only a few packages left and there wasn’t any white socks. I walked the store 3 times looking! I don’t know what’s going on around here with tube socks.I use to buy my boys tube socks when they where younger all the time but I have had a hard time finding them now. Anyhow I will bring what I find!

I’ll just steal a pair out of my son’s sock drawer and add it to the take to camp pile. Still have to get my needles sorted out but I know I have all of them they were here last year weren’t they? Here needle needle needle here needle needle. Darn why don’t they come when I call? Hunt hunt dig dig rubble rubble rubble….

I only found boring white tube socks in the men’s department at Target — but at least I found some. The DH didn’t mind getting some new socks. :) NOw, I’m hoping Tina is bringing a little dye to camp so I can make my socks less boring. ;)
