It’s not like I’m collectively more than 2″ in. After 2 days. No. Really.julie in wiI do love socks I do love socks I do I do I do. Yes? Yes….

you poor thing. i hope that the yarn behaves itself after you let it out from being timed-out. you need a pair of socks!
and yes, you do love socks!!!!
Thank you for that post…. Reinforces my decision to knit both socks at the same time!!! Also, I usually have 2-3 pairs of socks on my needles; I have probably 16+ size 1 Additurbos needles… Never want to delay starting a new pattern!!!!! All in different stages of completion!!! That way sock knitting skills are always fresh in my mind AND I never get bored!!!! I remember when I used to knit one sock at a time and I ran in to the same problems!!! Hang in there, get some sleep and smile!!!! I feel the worst day knitting is far better than the beat day at work!!!!!
Hi, my name is Meg and I am a sock knitter.
HI MEG!
Are we all there yet? Perhaps I will see my package tamale. I dont get to cast on, though, until I get chard, turnips and peas into the garden. That’s my pact. Oh and I have to turn the compost heap too.
Happy Spring, almost.
Julie, Hang in there, you are not alone..I’m an avide sock knitter..guess what I have re knit this sock four time..determined not to let it get the best of me..Just put it away for a couple of days..then you’ll see it with rested eyes..
I was having the same problem with Salish Seas but after time out it’s behaving itself again. Hope the time out works for you. Happy Knitting (on other things) Alice
Oh I’m so glad to know that I’m not the only one who had problems with the Salish Sea Socks, Alice.
I swear, I have knit probably 3 pairs already with the times that I have knit and ripped and knit and ripped. I currently have one sock where I am doing the wing decreases and the other sock I am working on the Sliding Sea Foam pattern on the leg.
Question for you, though. Are you done with them? I’m wondering about the peaks on the top before the bind off. I got to the point on one of the socks before and I kept screwing it up - my stitch count was off somewhere, so I decided to just do a regular bind off, no peaks. It didn’t look so hot. Any suggestions???
Thanks!
Monet
One sock is completed and looks pretty much like the pictures. The other sock is at the wing decreases. I had trouble with stitch count until I remembered how the lifted increase worked. You knit the increase and the next knit stitch is the one that the increase was born from. I’d think that knit stitch was part of the increase and that would automatically put me a stitch off in my count. Another thing is to really trust what is written and go with the flow. It does come out right when the count at the start is correct and you count the stitches correctly (which I didn’t do the first time around). Happy Knitting, Alice
I polished up my spinning wheel RIGHT IN FRONT OF IT–I’ve taken a 5 year hiatus to have wee children, but now they are old enough to not get tangled in the flyer or mess up my roving (we’ll leave that for the cats), it’s time to get back to spinning! I will let it stare at the wheel for the next few days while I go to work, then will start back in on it on Sunday. Hopefully that will scare it into behaving.
