Hey, did Dragon Dance stripe for everybody? Every picture I’ve seen shows stripes. Mine striped and I’m glad. But, isn’t it a curiosity that this yarn hasn’t pooled? (If you’ve got a “pooler”, post some pics so we all can see!)

Mine pooled for the cuff and leg (72 stitches, size large), but striped for the instep (after the heel, I decreased down to 66 stitches, the medium size).

I dont have a picture up yet on Ravelry but mine pooled and at first I was pissed. I realized that no matter how it knits up STR is beautiful and thats what makes it unique. Just for reference I am knitting the medium size (64 sts).
My Dragon Dance striped, but here is what I have noticed in knitting other STR colorways: when I knit for DH(60 st at 6st/in), they tend to pool; and when I knit for me (52 st at 6 st/in)they tend to stripe. If there is cabling, it is even more profound. Lately, I have taken to knitting (gasp) plain socks, just to see what the colorways will do.
I knit the small size and it striped very nicely. I was really happy with the way it turned out.
mine (size small) definitely pooled and at first i was a bit bummed. but then i got into it (totally fell in love with the pattern) and didn’t mind it too much!
pictures yet to go up b/c i’m a dork and can’t find the silly camera
Mine pooled around the gussets only. You can see them on Flickr or Ravelry under the ID msesq
I knit the medium and mine striped. Funny how some of us got each of the results regardless of the sizes we are making. Those of you whose pooled, could you post pictures somewhere? I would love to see them! I am sure that they are all beautiful!
mine pooled, love, love, love pooling!
Mine pooled too–evidently my dragon doesn’t like stripes! And the amazing thing is that the pooling pattern matches on both socks! I’ll post a picture when my daughter can help her dorky mom.
You must have read my mind–I was going to ask the same question. I’m a rather new sock knitter and was wondering why the pics had the nice little stripey pattern but mine had what was going to call “blobs of pretty pattern.” I guess “pools” sounds better than blobs. I got a late start, so, I’m still in the leg portion. I wonder if I’ll get some stripes somewhere along the line.

if you check back through the threads, there are a couple that discuss what you might try to get striping, if that is your goal. you need to change your gauge either by knitting tighter or looser; change the number of sts you are using; change needle size. knit a different size sock, but change the gauge so the sock will fit you.
as someone found out, even 3 sts more or less can change what your yarn does.
so, if you want striping, you will need to play around. others have done it!!!!!!!!!
but most of all, have fun!
I started with size 1s, and had pooling. I switched down to 0s (sob) and it started striping. And I have to knit TIGHT on 0s, which makes sense…my gauge tends to be about 2 sizes smaller than the recommended needle size.
The pooled versions look awesome! Gayle-thanks for asking others to share their pooled versions, it was fun to see! Mine stripety-striped!
