Gallery of Socks, March Kit Questions | March 28, 2008
I finished my socks yesterday. I am wearing them today. They seem big - the top ribbing fits beautifully and the toe is ok, but seems as if the heel is too big for my foot. Hoping a good washing snugs things up a bit, it often does.

WOW! That is super fast! I’m working on mine, and hope to make great progress this weekend, as I want to have them done by April 9th so I can wear them while on vacation. So far I am on the gusset of my first sock, so I’d better get knitting.
Congratulations Barbara! I knew we’d have some quick finishers on this sock. This will be the official “I’m Finished” post. Now to put on that other hat. But I won’t be able to “annoucementize” it until the contest closes. What are you working on now that your March kit is done? Happy Knitting, Alice
Wow - you’re done your March socks and I haven’t even gotten my kit yet in Canada!
Lucky you!
Yay!!! I finished my first sock last night and I’m going to start my second one tonight. They are not, however, for me, but for my DDIL.
i’m also done with mine and was showing them off at work today…fit wonderfully & the color is great.
Finished the first sock today! i figure if i keep knitting green quickly, spring will come faster!!! gotta go make spring with sock 2!
I finished my socks yesterday, I chose size small, my gauge was 8 spi and I used US#0 circulars to knit them. Pattern and yarn are beautiful.

In February (January socks) there was not enough light to take photos and now there was little bit too much but you all know how colors really are.
Was finished 2 days ago except for grafting the toe, just got that done today. I made large on size 2 and they fit perfectly. I love the cushy heel. I have size 8 1/2W feet with ankles that swell just thinking about it. The sock looks wide but the proof is in the trying on. I used magic loop 2 at a time though I did have to move 1 sock off the needle and work each individually during some of the gusset/bottem of heel section.
I’m done!! will post pictures on ravelry. Love the socks JC and the yarn Tina! now off to play catchup and wind up my serendipity!!! the socks fit well, maybe a tad loose around the back of the ankle where the Heel back starts. who cares…not me!
I think i knit fast enough to encourage spring to come! now i need leaf buds and daffodils!
Finished mine last week - hope to get pics in my blog sometime this week. I went down half a needle size to make them fit - like some others I found the pattern a little big and slouchy.
I’ve only done one, but I modified it to use less than 60 sts, because of my sizing issues. (See my blog or Ravelry (Thingwhatsqueeks) for more details)
I’m approaching doneness. Well, my socks are, anyway. I am fascinated by this heel/turn/flap, and actually hope the weather stays or gets a little chilly after I’m done so I can wear them a bit. They seem so squishy and comfy.
I’ve pre-tried them on, and am experiencing some bagginess at the sides of the ankles. So sometime I think I’ll do a pair using this heel technique, but with clocks or some kind of ornament that is also a rib and will snug that up for me. I don’t mind picking up stitches along heel flaps, but this continuous method was slick and fascinating, and I love how the gusset stitches end at the bottom of the foot with no seam. Magical! (Makes me want that Cat Bordhi book for more inspiration. Thank you for crediting her, JC Briar ~)
