I’m headed to Sweden, Denmark and possibly Norway in a couple of weeks and will be gone a month. I will be visiting Götene and Lidköping mostly. I was wondering if a meet up would be possible. If not, are there any yarn stores in the vicinity that I shouldn’t miss??? I really want to learn to make a Scandinavian sweater while I’m there. I’ll be enlisting my mother-in-law to help me. I might just have to make a pair of socks to match. The latest club sock is going to arrive in my mail box just in time. 10 and 1/2 hours of plane knitting should get me pretty far and that’s just on the way there.

I finished my Dragon Dance socks and I love love love them. It was the first time I ever worked with STR Lightweight. I didn’t use the pattern because I was so happy with the way the yarn was striping and I didn’t want to break it up. I definitely will try the pattern another time though. There are more pictures and information on my blog! It’s a shameless plug, but there really are more pictures there!

I figured the real advantage of waiting til March 16th to start my January socks was that pattern updates would be available - but I’ve searched here and on ravelry and haven’t found any. Did come across some very helpful tips for short row heels (these will be my first, so that’s much appreciated!) and clarification around placement of the heel/foot stitches and starting the star toe on round 4 (for a size M). But that’s it - are there really no updates? Thanks!

Seems that if you live in the Seattle area really neat things happen. Check out this website and see if you can resist planning a vacation (or long weekend excursion) around it. http://www.lystour.com/ Happy Knitting, Alice
