March Kit Questions, Notorious Sock Knitters | April 02, 2008
Okay, so we now have a venue and a date. Arrangements have been made with Twisted at 2310 NE Broadway, Portland, OR 97232 to have some space to knit the March pattern on Thursday, April 10, 2008 from 6-8pm. They have chairs/couches/tables and a nice tea bar, in addition to much yarny goodness. Please join me there to knit this together. The gals at Twisted can be reaced at 503-922-1150. Or you can email me at lacemkr at gmail dot com. We can decide then if we want to get together every week or every other week or whatever.

While I’ll be really close (Seattle area versus my usual haunt of Iowa) I have to check out where my daughter’s getting married with her future in-laws. Wish I could join you. But I get to go to all kinds of yarn shops while I’m out there so I’m not going to complain about one missed chance to meet all kinds of wonderful sock club knitters. Happy Knitting everyone. Alice

Hi Mikki: Thanks for arranging this. I do want to attend this sock knitting event. I put it on my calendar and unless something comes up, I will be there. I have only met one other STR Club member and it will be fun to connect.

I wish I could make it up from Eugene, but my two darlings wouldn’t be conducive to knitting, and my youngest is too small to leave behind just yet! Although at least part of that is all me. I hate to leave Daddy alone with them, and I’d miss ‘em, too…
Have fun. Maybe in a couple of months I’ll be able to leave the kids behind and do a ‘mommy sleepover’ in Portland. Maybe for the September socks! I’d love to take a day and drive up to do a little personal shopping. A little break like that sure does sound nice!
Update: Five of us got together for some wonderful conversation and Leaflings. Please join us every two weeks at Twisted. Our next sit down is Thursday April 24th from 6-8 pm. We’d love to see you there!!
It’s too bad we all couldn’t figure out how to organize more of these get-togethers in various spots around the country….
