I’m just getting started on Leafling, and on round 1 of the leg I get more than 27 sts, in fact I get 29 sts! Round 2 looks like 27. What am I missing?
How did you understand that first ’setup’ row? I had a ‘do over’ moment myself, because I didn’t place a marker after knitting the first 15 stitches (on account of 15 st. per needle on double points…). (I launched right into the setup row instead of knitting 15 stitches first. Totally different issue than yours.)
Did you purl on the ‘place marker’s’ instead of placing markers? That would add you up to 29 instead of 27. It’s all I can think of.
you know, I’ll have to try this again. I have 27 sts btw markers. Thanks. Do NOT know why I am getting stuck. MAYBE I should not watch tv at the same time!
Here is an easy way to remember: For each “working” leafling row you will do two decreases (k2p or ssk) AND 2 increases (LLI RLI) so you should aways remain at 27sts. I would sometimes forget one or the other and have to tink back to correct.
Then the next row is all knit even, no inc’s or dec’s
donna, i am totally giggling about your ‘tv’ comment. my ‘do over’ moment came at a suspenseful moment in the movie ‘charade’. so tv really might be a problem. i’ve even *seen* ‘charade’ before a bunch of times!

I really should not watch tv when I should be counting. Got it. Duh!
