We’re Late, We’re Late
for a very important date,
No time to say hello, goodbye,
We’re late, We’re late, We’re late
and when we cry,
we lose time to dye.
Our yarn took us too much time to bundle. We stumble and then we twist, twist, twist.
Wishing that we could fly.
There’s danger if we dare to miss and here’s the reason why,
(you see) we are overdue and in a bit of a USPS stew. Can’t even knit a stitch or two. We’re late, We’re late, We’re late.
Good morning dearest NSK’s
We’d love to stop and chatter,
but in six or seven hours we must meet with the hatter
the mad, mad, mad, mad Hatter.
We must chat about not printing stamps when raising postal prices, a very important matter.
We are off to see the queen of socks
who lives up in the palace,
and the very moment we are through with her
We have got a date with Alice.
We can’t be late for Alice, from the heartland or the one with malice.
We’re late, just a wee bit late!
International kits are shipping today and some went yesterday. The rest of them will not leave here until Tuesday next week.
I am very sorry for this delay! The fates have been working against us on this one.
thanks for your understanding and patience!
a wee bit down but certainly not defeated
team blue moon
p.s. For those pdx sock clubbers we will be at Twisted this evening for a bit of knit relief.

RATS! I guess I can quit stalking the mailman now!
Good luck getting everything together Ladies! I can’t wait to see the yarnie goodness!!
AND hmmmm - does anyone think the Alice In Wonderland poem is a hint of some sort?
Been wishing and hoping but can wait for as long as it takes! Thanks for the update, though. Rest up, too.
I think that it is and it makes me think of Alice’s dress and how it’s blue and white…. which leads me to think of clear early summer skies, blue water, blue waves, blue bells, blue birds, blue moons….
Better late than never! Good things come those who wait right? Right! And if there was anything worth waiting for it’s a sock kit in my book!
Yeah! I get more time to work on my Leaflings. And if I get really zealous, I’ve got a couple of skeins of Mediumweight.
It’s been so very busy for all of you–Camp, new colorways, monkey madness–all smacked in between US. There must be something different in the Wheaties in the Northwest-you’re running at Mach 5!
mmm-A spiral-dyed trip down the rabbit hole to the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party
Does this mean that if we are PDX knitters we might be able to pick up our kits tonight at Twisted?
That’s fine, Tina. You and everyone at Blue Moon have been having quite the busy month…or two…and the fact that all of you can get these kits up and running every month is just astounding! I don’t know how all of you accomplish everything you do, but I’m just completely in awe.
Ugh! Not happy about the late yarn, but I will let you make it up to me…hmmm, maybe including an extra skein or sock monkey kit will make me forget that the bunny delayed my yarn?? Oh, well, can’t blame a girl for asking!! =)
I’m actually kinda happy about this… I’m going on vacation for the holiday weekend, and my postal person is notorious for doing stupid stuff with my mail (like folding things that say “DO NOT BEND” and leaving unwrapped packages on my doorstep without plastic in the rain, things like that…
So I don’t really mind that it’s a touch late (Although I do wish it had gotten here before the vacation)… At least now I’ll be home to get it!
No worries! One think knitting teaches us is patience. If the lot of us can’t find anything else to do with our fingers in the meantime, maybe a mad cross-country game of virtual rock paper scissors…..
Oh how I love Alice in Wonderland. An Alice inspired kit would be so fun. In fact, you could, with that beautiful imagination of yours, Tina, do a whole Alice inspired theme. You have Alice, Tweedle Dee and Dum, The Mad Hatter’s tea party, the Cheshire Cat, The Queen of Hearts, let’s not forget the White Rabbit…
Who wouldn’t be delayed with all those monkeys running around underfoot and playing in the yarn?
that’s okay….I just cut my thumb badly today and won’t be able to knit until next week….or maybe even two weeks from now!
:(
Oh! The Cheshire cat! There are already colourways that would work for Cheshire socks Bbackstabber or Hot Flash would probably work well), so I’m pretty sure that it couldn’t be that. This would be so wonderful! I would have wedding day socks as our reception is the Mad Hatters Tea Party!
Another week we have to wait to find out the color(s)! Dang!
No worries, we’ll just go through the looking glass for a cup of tea and enjoy the anticipation a little longer :).
I have a shipping question….
I noticed that the last shipment I got had a postmarked date that would imply it went out with the stateside shipments. I was just wondering if you ship APO with international packages? I always seem to get mine later than most, and just thought you should know that APO addresses, although they have a stateside address, really end up shipping overseas. (We’re military).
Just wondering…..
Don’t worry on our account. Some of us are still behind one or more kits.
I’m not worried…technically, its not late since next week is still MAY! Look at it that way
Hope you ladies had a blast tonight at Twisted!!
Thanks for letting us know. I imagine quite a few people (me included) were planning on saving them for Summer Of Socks anyway, which doesn’t start until 6/21.
Goody-I can finish my second Leafling sock and my small monkey before it gets here.
I love Alice. that made up for the lateness.
Oh I’m sad I couldn’t make it to Twisted last night!! I was twistin some fiber into yarn;)
Well, since I have NO other yarn….. hee hee. It will get here when it gets here and that is just dandy!! Another Oregonian lovin the almost June rain and covering my little plants nightly!
So were we Deb. I brought my wheel and taught Claire how to spin. Great fun!! missed you!
Tina, we love the anticipation. i haven’t heard a single person confes to being project-less or out of yarn! It’s not like you’ve had a day to breathe since march shipment, i mean camp, no…harlot, well…monkey business. when praytell did you dye the may yarn????
Yup, and i had gotten so excited when i heard the maillady honk her horn the other day too! (it was a fun pkg but not STR)
This is my first year in the RSC and I am totally addicted! I have been looking forward to seeing what the beautiful yarn looks like all month and what kind of pattern. I am so enjoying this - stretching my sox knitting skills and falling in love with the yarn!
No worries, Tina! I have kits left from the past two club years to keep me busy while waiting, not to mention other UFOs. ;)I had been away on vacation expecting my package to be here when I got back, but when I didn’t have it, I logged on to search for a spoiler but alas, no spoilers. Then I reI will be excited to get it when it comes!!
You will all note that Tina left Anneli home from camp and I suspect had her chained to a dyeing table working on our May kits. Well maybe not chained. Hope you get things worked out with USPS. Gas is costing them more too folks.
It almost arrived on my birthday so I’m a happy camper and it’s given me something to wear on Craig’s latest go ’round with the hospital. Luckily it’s only been a two night stay and we’re headed back home today. I’m still a sock kit behind this year so having to wait for the next installment is not causing me any grief. I foolishly signed up for 52 Pair Plunge II and that starts June 1st. Leafling is waiting for 12:01am with kit #3 right behind that. Hopefully I’ll get other socks off the needles this week so I can start with a somewhat clean slate. Summer of Socks is rolled up in the Plunge along with Sock Penthalon. Happy Knitting All (Kits Come In Tina Time), Alice
I was excited to receive a box from Blue Moon (that I didn’t remember ordering) that contained my camp sweatshirt!
Well, you know what I’m working on,Tina, so the May kit should come just when I’m ready for it!
Yes, I do know what you are working on. All I have to do is gaze into my crystal ball and I can see exactly what socks you are knitting.
wow, creepy huh?
ok, definitely time for a nap!
I hope that someone has taken time to cook you folks a wonderful picnic, with potato salad and corn on the cob, and cake.
My hands are too dirty right now, with my garden, to knit anyway.
I remain patient as a rock.
