Yes ma’am, yes ma’am, two socks full.
Aren’t they beautiful?
Remember my dream from the first dyer’s notes? The one about the traveling sock and Leslie,Tan and L-B being prime knitters on this project. Well, for my recent birthday I received this lovely pair of Monkeys knit by all three of these wonderful women. They added Gail in, for a bit of good measure, I think. (snicker,giggle) Yes, there were a few tears, I was and am still very touched by this gift.
It is at this point, that I am going to out myself and admit that I guessed the two colorways that they used here wrong. I know! Hard to believe, but nonetheless true. I am deeply ashamed all the way down to my very blue heart.
So my notorious sock knitting friends can you tell which colorways these are? hmmm? Smell a contest?
We will randomly choose 6 NSK’s that correctly guess BOTH of the colorways used. Please EMAIL your guesses to contests@bluemoonfiberarts.com. It starts now and the deadline is June 18th at midnight PDT. Anyone with information leading to the correct answers please mums the word. Yes, Tan, Leslie, L-B and Gail this means you. Sorry guys, I will make it up to you I promise!

NOTE: ooops, I just noticed and thought you should know that one of the colors is not on the site at this time. Makes it just a wee bit more challenging.
HINT: My socks are of elemental and mythical origin!
p.s. I am adding a link here on this blog, to the Traveling Sock blog that Les and Alice have created so we can keep up with it. Alice and I think that the sock might need a name. Any thoughts?

This post just makes me happy!! You are rockin’ your new pretty socks!! I won’t email a guess since I saw the socks knit live (and guessed the right colors then…I can’t believe you didn’t guess them Tina?!?!), but I do know they were knit with lots and lots of love!! Enjoy!

Talked to Leslie since I finally snagged her for coffee, and we thought it would be fun to have a secondary contest to guess what colorways you thought they were. (Especially if all the sharp knitters in the club found Leslie’s blog before I got her to delete the answers.)
Then again, I’m guessing that there are less people in the know about that one. Like me. Really.
Yeah, poor Nartian! The price she pays for hanging with me is that she had to hear about this whole project from it’s inception! Before L-B, Tan or Gail even knew! So of course, every minute detail she had to hear about…and of course she had to hear me freakin’ out about Tina’s foot size–every-time-it-changed! Yeah, then she has to keep me on task and gettin’ the info off my blog! But *really* in the scheme of things, how many of us are excluded? There are still many, many club members who didn’t know about the Secret Sock Conspiracy!
But we did think it would be quite fitting to do a secondary “what is that colorway” contest…you know-the one where we guess which colorway IS the combo of the two used…?
WHAT!!!! NOT EVEN ON THE PAGE???!!! well that changes everything!!! i must go searching for a right answer and i am determined, even if i have to guess 20 times which is probably against the rules! but i’m a player and like to have fun!

So, is bluemoon’s email support blocking all gmail accounts right now? I’ve heard of other people on Rav that tried to send emails that got bounced that also had gmail. They were able to get through using other clients, like yahoo.
I will check into the gmail thing. I have a gmail account so will test it and then to super webdude.

and leslie, i may be a student of the fiber but the size of my STR stash compared to other west coasters, cough irishgirlie cough, may make this a difficult task. i will learn trying! who am i to pass up cyber fun while watching your west coast golf!!!

It’s even more difficult to those of us who are new to BMFA and STR. It does explain why I couldn’t figure out the second color…

Who knew knowing what colors they actually are makes it even harder to figure what you thought they were?
Tina, did you get my emails? I emailed one from gmail to tina@ with the error message, and I also emailed my guess for the yarn colors to contest@ from my austin.rr.com address… is any of my mail getting through?
I got the one yesterday to my email and that is it and it had no error message attached. I am backed up on email because I was away for the weekend. Look for a response this morning.
Tina- I emailed you yesterday morning about about not being able to send to the contest addy. Should I send my guess to you at your address? Hehe…I saw the hint you put up today and now I super want my first guess to be counted:) Just wanted to check since I haven’t heard back from the email.

Ok, I sent you an email. I’m sorry to be a pain but could you please let me know if it comes through? I’ve been having some email issues on top of this thing with the contest addy and a lot of my sent mail is just poofing without any alert to me. At least mail sent to the contest addy gets bounced back to me. The other few emails that have poofed I have no idea about until I see the recipient and find out.
Will we know if you’ve received our emails? I just want to make sure I’m not missing out on a chance to win the contest if for some reason my emails aren’t going through…
Still hoping my e-mail from office address got through with guesses.

Well??? I have sufficiently tortured myself with the color study (unsuccessfully i am sure) and am now anxiously awaiting the reveal! i have a whole new must have list and loved the contest, tinagirl. I had fun making a list of combos that it WASN”T!! small things amuse me sometimes, lol.
I just noticed the hint, and now I’m really excited about my guess!! It doesn’t matter that I just placed a big order yesterday, clearing out my many-months-old shopping cart.
I love these contests & the possibility of scoring more STR!!
oops! totally lost track of time and didn’t get around to submitting my guess, must dial down on stress
