stitch count for large size gumdrops

July '08 Kit Questions | August 28, 2008
By Ruth

I have finished the picot edge and have 74 stitches. EVERY time I k2tog then YO I end up with 73 stitches on the needles. What am I missing here?

I was going to try YO then k2tog next, but I thought I should ask first.

Thanks to anyone who can shed the light. Ruth

Anyone else with toe drops?

Gallery | August 25, 2008
By Juliet

The gumdrop pattern has been my absolute favorite of this year and last.  It is, to me, the perfect combination of interesting but not fussy.   Thank you so much JC Briar!  Nonetheless, I had to mess with it a little and I’m surprised I’m not seeing any other socks with the pattern on the toe.   I love how the lone gumdrop sticks forth from the strap of my Birkenstocks!

Calling all Cockamamie and Crows Feet Campers

Announcements, Camp Crows Feet | August 23, 2008
By Tina

The camp projects that have been done in the past two years haunt me.  The chickens and the TP holders. They are so wonderful and I think that they should be seen and appreciated.

I have mentioned this to some gallery friends and have been playing with putting together an installation to show at appropriate museums. Before I go further into this project I thought I should check in with you to see if you are interested at all.

The only drawback I see is that you would need to part with your lovely creations or knit another.

Please respond here in the comments and then email me tina@bluemoonfiberarts.com if you are interested.

thanks all

I hope everyone is enjoying this last blast of summer vacation.

July socks - separate post for Sweet Tarts?

Gallery | August 23, 2008
By Nartian

I know there’s already a post/thread for finished Gumdrops socks, so if Alice or Tina want me to move this or delete this, I’ll add on to the other thread.

In any case, I am saving my skein of Goody Goody for the Gumdrops and knit up the Sweet Tart anklets for my older monkey in Hot Flash in honor of…well, Hot Flash:

I love how the colorway works so cutely with the pattern.

What is the weight of the sock yarn in the kit?

July '08 Kit Questions | August 22, 2008
By Penelope

This colorway contains all of my granddaughters favorite colors.  I knit the taller pair in her size, then started on the anklets, but only had enough for one sock.  I need to order more, but want to be sure to order the correct weight.

Gumdrops Socks - Large Size Pattern Question

July '08 Kit Questions | August 09, 2008
By Rosemary Chapman

After knitting set up rounds 1-4 and rounds 1-16 of gumdrops transition patttern once….Keeping instep sts in gumdrops pattern and remaining sts in rib, work even for 30 more rounds.  My question is - what do I knit the 30 more rounds in? the gumdrops leg pattern or the gumdrops pattern for instep?  Also, are we still moving the markers out 5 sts on rounds 6 and 14?  Sorry to be so dumb…..too many irons in my little fire of a brain!

JC, I think this pattern absolutely rocks!!!

Slightly color obsessed mind wants (needs) to know.

Announcements, Warning Spoilage | August 06, 2008

Pastel or not. Want to weigh in on this?

I have gotten so many bizarre responses to whether of not this was a pastel.

This inquiring mind wants to know. What is your opinion on the pastelishness of this colorway.

I say, based on the definiton of a pastel, that yes, it most certainly is just that, a PASTEL.

So in the comments please put;

Pastel-if you think it is.

Not pastel -if you think it is not.

thanks!

p.s. I am working on the results of the survey. So you will see them soon.
