YO Campers!

Camp KnittyhaHA | March 20, 2009
By Tina

We are dyeing yarn for the Camp store.

And I know you are going to find this really hard to believe but I cannot make up my little color mind about what we should bring.

So dearest NSK’s any color requests?

If so put them here in comments and we will do our best to fulfill them.
( Requests not orders)

Happy Spring!

How about colors not sent to Stitches West, like Kalish & Koi Koi? Yeah, like that’s going to make it easy. LOL!

In any case, if there are any blues that Irishgirlie won’t snap up, I will! Otherwise, I’m game for whatever you bring.

Well, some man friendly colors for socks are always welcome…Blacks, greys, blues, dark greens.

For us? Well anything that looks like you should eat it. NOM.

I’d love to see more of the semisolids and watercolors.

I second semi-solids and watercolors, with a special request for Oregon Red Clover Honey. Happy Spring!

feeling the need for some silkie in semi solid blues and maybe some bright ones like spawn of braun, pixie park, hot flash, torquosie…some yellows, would love to see citrine.

it may surprise you, but i am feeling color deprived in my world around me (yeah, the homework thing is tough but has definately sensitized me to the feelings that colors evoke…i digress)

needless to say, i will be thrilled with any and all!!!

bringing a shopping list…and room for the spirit to move me!!!

thanks for the thoughtfulness! ;-)

and what wendy said…man colors for souvenier socks…as a token of my appreciation for his support of my adventure!

Bleeding hearts, Lettuce Knit, In the Navy are a few on my hopeful list. Right now I too am into shaded solids and watercolors, but I love them all! And rare gems, pretty please????

Yay!!!!!! New colors :) Or your favorite old colors :)

I would love more Meet Brown, Joe….in heavyweight in particular!! Other purty colors, Apple Valley Road, Kalish, Bejewelled, Carbon Dioxide, Manly yes…. really, I trust you completely!!!! Just pack lots :)

Oh, and did I say Meet Brown, Joe please :)

I love the spirit and the raven colorways. I could go for some cotton/silk (my husband is allergic to wool- breaks out in weepy rashes) in man colors, particularly the darker semisolids.

I am susceptible to most colors, and have accumulated a small stash of 5 or 6 skeins, but all wool. Tempt me (VBG).

My March sock kit just in case it doesn’t get to me before I climb on the train for camp? Crossing my fingers that today is internationals and Monday is Iowa so I have it by Friday. Other than that I’ll go with the shaded solids groupies.

P.S. Have you asked Deb and Annalea what they’d like to dye? How about Rosie? I’ll bet she has some preferences! I’ve discovered I have just about every color in the rainbow in my stash so bring it on. I’ll even bet I could take my color pac and find a match for most of it in my BMFA stash alone. Oh another suggestion - Relaxing colors. In the words of Cockeyed…just sayin’

I would like some Raven colorways: Valkyrie, Thraven, Shadow. I need to do some thank you socks to a couple of wonderful guys, in lightweight maybe? I am into the shaded solids, and watercolor waves right now. But, I am sure I will be tempted regardless of what you bring. I have yet to see a STR that I haven’t liked.

I second Alice’s comment about ‘Relaxing colors.’

I’d love STR light or medium weight in Pebbles, Obsidian, Typhoon Tina & Treehugger…and some Twisted in Lunasea for Sam’s new shawl pattern! Yay–I can’t wait for camp!

Shaded solids and watercolor wave (especially Mustang Sally) in twisted & peru and anything in icelandic. Can’t wait to see you all!

My original comment said it was being held for “moderation.” I think I used too many of those little happy faces (or maybe it was all the exclamation marks).

Second attempt. Pretty pretty pretty please…Meet Brown, Joe, in STR but particularly in heavyweight (me wants a sweater!). Others, Apple Valley Road, Kalish, Bejewelled, Carbon Dioxide…oh any of the ones you want!!

Oh, and MJIYN. Ask Debbi. She’ll help with that one!

Can’t wait!

pond scum. in WooBu or Seduction. enough for a man’s sweater.

oh, wait. I’m not buying new yarn, am I?

Would like to see the spirits in real life. And anything with blue in it.

sigh. I am very jealous of all of you going to camp. the colours you all mention sound wonderful! please post photos when you get back from camp!

I would like to suggest some of the colorways that have returned from a vacation recently. Like County Clare and Pixie Park.

Also, I would love to see your color expertise used in pairing colorways for projects. For example, if I went to the store and saw five different skeins grouped to graduate from blue to green for a Charlotte Web shawl I would melt into a puddle and I would have to buy all five…. just say’n. In other words maybe kit suggestions in which your color genius went into choosing the skeins for the kit.

I agree with Hizkits, anything Pond Scum. I need a Pond Scum shawl, so anything shawl-ish. Also, would it be too much to hope for if I suggested Froggin’? I actually had a photo on my blog of my Wall O’STR and a reader recognized Frogigin out of about 21 skeins hanging there. He tried to sweet talk me out of it, but I resisted.

Brainstorm = How about ancient gems. Those colors that haven’t seen the light of day since the early pre-cambrian? I know some aren’t available because the dyes no longer exist but there must be a few that haven’t been around since the early days.

A special request for some of that lovely BFL — in Brick. Everything I bought at Madrona is missing, presumed lost: Lisa K so kindly mailed it to me, UPS claims they delivered it, but sadly, it did not make it to me. We’re investigating, but I am not optimistic.

I was going to make a shawl with the brick BFL, even before Camp. Sad face. There was some other awesome Blue Moon stuff that I bought too, but that was impulse buys; this one, I could already visualize the FO. Always trouble!

On March 22nd, 2009 at 2:23 pm Sue said:

Perhaps some twisted in Atomic 6 or Typhoon Tina? I will tempted and reckless regardless of what appears in the camp store!

On March 23rd, 2009 at 1:48 pm Leslie said:

Kalish. I love Kalish. Pond Scum in STR Heavy Weight cuz there are cool mitts I want to make with it! And well…I would love some Heavy Weight Brick STR, but I won’t die if it is not there. Hmmm…if I could only stick to that list! But it is now 3 days since your post and I’m sure you have already dyed up most of our stuff if not all…I always have such a hard time deciding cuz I love it all! If there are some WooBu or Peru semi-solids, that could really kill me cuz I want to knit everything out of BMFA yarns now!

On March 23rd, 2009 at 1:51 pm Leslie said:

Oh! About that semi-solids wants…Manly, Yes. But I Like it, Too! LOVE that colorway! And MJIYN? That IrishGirlie! THAT would be an interesting one to come up with!

On March 23rd, 2009 at 2:21 pm Cathy-Cate said:

Oh, and the other extremely special skein that I had a gift project in my head all ready to design, from the box that seems to have been stolen off my porch, was Luscious Silk in Pallas Athena….if it’s convenient. Otherwise, I can order it after camp. Thanks for asking, by the way….that is so awesome.

New colors straight from the ocean?! Oooh, the agony for those of us not fortunate enough to be able to afford to attend Sock Camp! Tina, please tell me these new colors will be avaiable to the rest of your darling NSKers at some point?! Please…..please….asking nicely!

ACK! NEW COLORS?!!!! Boy, will I be in BIG trouble! My head will be spinning out of control! But I as sooooo looking forward to seeing all the wonderful new treats for us! Oh, and of course seeing you, too… ;) But how about *me*? Are you wanting *me* to bring any special goodies or treats? I must know soon cuz we are taking the loooong road there so I’ll be leaving out early!

On March 24th, 2009 at 4:35 pm Cathy-Cate said:

Oh, Tina, never mind! The lost box has shown up! One small number changed in the address, and it went to a student rental house in the neighborhood. All my lovely Blue Moon yarn is home and safe! Though I don’t think I can knit the BFL up before camp the way I’d planned….

Now, all I have to admit is that the kitten has lost my homework yarn. Seriously. It was last spotted by my daughters being played with by the kitten, and now it is gone. I’ve crawled around on hands and knees and can’t find it. But I have more of the same yarn, and a spare ring, so I can recreate it! I’d better get cracking, I’ve been looking for it for a week, and now am admitting defeat.
