Notorious Sock Knitters, Warning Spoilage | March 29, 2009
One down, the other already started. Pictures below the cut.

Sock "A"
I am making the 8 1/2″ large size for my size 9 foot. The first sock weighed 2.25 ounces with 3.5 ounces left. I totally could have done a complete 4 repeats of the pattern on the cuff without any worry. Oh well. Once the heel was turned, the yarn worked itself out and the white/yellow/brownish parts started appearing throughout the sock rather than on just one side (like the back of the cuff).

Sock Cuff/Heel
I’m getting 7.5 spi on a US 1 (2.50mm) and used a US 2 (3.0mm) on the picot cuff. I only did that because usually I use 2s for Mediumweight, but I was only getting 6.5spi and I was too lazy to rip it out and start over with the 1s. So I’m calling it ankle shaping and did the same for the second sock (which I’m working on now). This pattern is really fun and easy to memorize. The yarn is perfect for the pattern.

It’s just wrong that you have a finished sock…and I’M STILL WAITING!!! Man, when I’m going to get mine? Okay, enough whining…for this hour anyway!
It’s so beautiful. I’m still working on the first leg, but I can’t wait to finish my pair. Thanks for the inspiration.
I finished my pair up on Friday, and I am loving them. I need more mediumweight! Picture:
Okay, so it doesn’t like my html? Here’s a URL: http://www.flickr.com/photos/25757728@N08/3393256158/
Gorgeous!!
I’m still on the leg of sock A - but I just know that when I finish knitting this pair I will be so SAD that they are finished (happy to wear them, though, of course!). They are like a book that you love and don’t want to end.
