Roses gone a wry…Help Please!

Notorious Sock Knitters | April 07, 2009
By Leslie

I am knitting the large size sock and have turned the heel and am working on the gusset. It’s been smooth sailing until this point (or so I thought!). I have picked up the stiches for the gusset and worked the shaping Round 1 successfully. In working Round 2, I knit my picked-up stitches to the instep and found that in order to carry on with my instep pattern (row 9) I had to knit to 2 sts before marker and then knit 2 together……here’s the problem, my marker is my first instep stitch so I would have to steal a stitch from my gusset in order to knit 2 together as requested. Any comments, advice (please don’t tell me to start again:) etc???

Thanks in advance…Leslie in snowy Deep River (It is April right?)

I believe I had exactly the same thing happen only I was working the medium. It took me a couple of minutes to realize that you switch from working the pattern chat from the leg (where the k2tog is in front of the marker for the purl ground) to the chart for the foot (where the k2tog comes after the yo after the second marker showing the end of the purl ground). Hope this helps.

Yes—-thanks a bunch; I was definitely scratching my head over this. I still don’t find these instructions on the pattern but I’ll move forward as it does solve the issue nicely. It would be nice for Tina/Stephanie/someone to draw other clubbers’ attention to the matter.

Yes, thank you Cara. I did the same thing on the size small and was getting very worried!. I guess that’s the benefit of being so far behind. Someone else has already asked and answered the question! Thanks!!
