Colors are fading

Hi Tina:  I am having problems with severe fading of the yarn (blue from the beaded and the last fall garden colors which I love but after the first wash dull compared to remaining yarn).  I wash in cold water and use Woolite.  Help, what am I doing wrong?

Using woolite. It’s hell on handknits. Use something like eucalan or soak. Or even a mild baby shampoo.

agreed Virginia it is the Woolite. As turtlegirl says it is hell on color and handknits in general.

I use a wash for baby clothes. It works great on my hand knits. I also wash all of mine by hand in the sink. (not necessary on superwash, but I do it anyway!) Have not had a “fader” yet!
