Announcements, Contests | November 29, 2009
I think I lost it… let me know if you come across it.
Well actually I do not think I lost it, that is not true. My almost complete and really full NSK binder is not where I have been keeping it for the past year and well.. I expect foul play. ( where could it be?did the butler do it? oops wait I do not have a butler.) I wish people would not touch and certainly not move or hey, even breathe on my stuff. I worked hard on this puppy and it has all my personal design notes and maybe it was not my best creative work but it was mine. Why would you mess with something that is not yours?
Okay reigning it in to give you the details and Scrapagories and post Etta Mae’s binder for a little inspiration. Was going to post mine but… I am going to try to be really big about this and choose to look at it positively. hmm… oh I know, I was not really creatively happy with it anyway. In all honesty was pretty embarrassed to show you guys and well now that I am telling you about it I think maybe it might have run away from home. Poor sad binder.
Ok letting go (yeah right) and starting over. In with the good air out with the whiny air.
Here is how this contest will roll:
There are 8 categories below which you can enter under. We here at Blue Moon will pick our 16 top favs 2 from each category and then post them here for the whole club to vote on. The 8 grand prize winners from each category win a 40% off coupon that can be used on the anything Blue Moon wise including the 2010 sock club. The 8 runner up will receive a 20% off coupon good for the same. You have until December 20th to send these to us and we will then post the the top 16 on the 22nd and you can peruse and vote until the 26th. We will then announce the winners on the 28th.
When you send your photo please also add in a short description of what you did and why.
Since I have to start over ( see the letting go) and think I might have missed my own point of this whole thing earlier. Instead of making it mostly about what was in the club I am going to make it what the club is for me. A journey maybe or keepsake of my sockie year.
Here are your Scrapagories:
the most Dominating. (in keeping with the whole sock knitting world domination theme)
the most Likely to be Martha Stewart ( I think this speaks for itself)
the most Colourfully outrageous ( well duh)
the most Out of the Box ( a heel here, a toe there. anything goes)
the most Notoriously Sock Knit (celebrating community, knitting, sock…)
the most Tightly Wound ( where organization reigns supreme)
the most Creatively Scrapbooked Challenged ( I would enter here)
the most Hodge Podge ( this is the category if the others are not calling your name)
Please send you binder photo submissions to sockclub@bluemoonfiber arts.com
I think that covers it ( ha ha covers it…get it?) If you have any questions let me know.
I am off to find the butler.

Should be able to fit this in amidst Christmas knitting, preparations and shopping…
Another thing to add to the rocking to do list!!!
Ok is there a picture of what you are thinking of? Where? Is the idea to design the cover, how we arrange the inside and so we send pictures?
One more question for Tina, Did you say you were writing a knitting book around the Raven theme? I think you mentioned it at your color class with Anna Z at the Sock Summit or I may have misunderstood. It is not like you have lots of extra time with all your projects but I was wondering if you are working on it.
thanks, ( my son now calls me a wonderful, wonderful nerd. He did say nerds were now very in. Made me laugh out loud.)
Joann is posting a picture now of Sockateer Susan’s binder. Make it your own and it is the cover we are talking about here.
The Raven book is waitng for me to take the final pics and to bite the bullet get over it and well let it go.
Sorry!
Thanks a ton Tina.

OK Think I sent you an entry now on to Christmas pre-company cleaning. Happy Holidays all see you next year.
I think that I have sent off my submission. I hope that it arrives in time to be considered!
Well, it seems that my message was sent. I had a lot of fun doing this. Good luck to everyone participating!
Ugh. I so didn’t get going on my scrapbook
I’ll make a better effort in 2010!! I promise!!
Hope my “submission” got there. Definitely not Martha or Tightly Wound but could be considered Hodge Podge, Challenged or OOB. Hope your ready for a fabulous holiday. Hugs from Iowa, Alice
I hope my pictures arrived in time. Typical procrastinator worry. LOL I’m not very good at the picture thing, so I sent it as an album you could access. I look forward to seeing who the 16 favorite are!!
