———————————————————————————————————————————
A kind of sort of guessing game. A game where we all will have to work together.
Here it is; You know those sometimes silly, often themed but maybe random names on the inside of the skein bands of your yarn?
Yeah those. May’s shipments certainly are themed (Cartoony) and each one of them go with a blue moonie.
So the name of the game is which cartoon goes with which blue moonie.
I will supply you with the list of Blue Moonie’s but you guys have to collect all the cartoon names and match them.
The first 6 people to do this win a Rare Gem Skein in lightweight or mediumweight yarn.
The first person wins the chance to work with me (depravedyer) in creating and naming a colorway.
Here are the rules: Starts today at 12:00 PDT and goes until June 15th at 12:00 PDT.
Below you will find a picture of team Blue Moon so you have visual.
Most of you do not know a lot about out team members but some of you do and the sockateers do so your going to have to be creative in finding this info. out.
Kind of a treasure hunt.
Team blue moon will give little clues in the comments here in the next 48 hours. (Note to self: remember to tell the barn girls this little tidbit).
Post your guesses here. PLEASE do not email them to the sock club email. Only ones here in the comments will count.
From left to right we have; Anneli, Becky, Debra, Joann,Paula, Rosebud and me. (Actually that is Claire who went back to her family in the UK. Just pretend it’s me)
Ok my lovely NSK’s Game ON!

Toe Shaping

Gallery, Not Socks | March 09, 2009
By SHELLY

This is my 1st post to any blog!  I  told my husband I was changing the toe in the pattern - he was very concerned that the bad-ass Rockin’ Sock Club members would stalk me; or worse -

send me tangled skeins if they knew of this.  Thank you dear rockin’ glove lady for easing my fears.  I modified the toe - the shaping is done with short rows - I found “Priscillas Dream Socks” in the Fall 2000 issue of Interweave.  I will attempt adding pics - please excuse the worn look of my sockies.  This is due to excessive use - I am a firm believer in using whatever I make - note, no beads on the foot.  If lovin my socks is wrong I don’t wanna be right!

I´ve finished my socks and I loooove them! They are so soft and squishy, like walking on soft springs! I cannot wait for the next shipment!

I am so loving this pattern and the colorway and the beads…oh the beads - SO MUCH FUN!  Here are a couple of pics (with and without flash) of my WIP which is going so fast!  I’ve never knit socks this fast.  I might actually be done by the end of the week!

By Michele

100_4795Thought I’d share Oregon snow with the perfect socks for keeping my feet warm. I know it’s not one of the 2008 club patterns, but a sock I’ve had for a few years in Seal Rock. They’ve held up wonderfully well!Happy Oregon Snow Day! Hope everyone at BMFA central is safe and warm.

Platypus sockie?

or the Unisock?

You decide.  It is certainly sock knitting at it’s most ridiculous. Makes me think we might need an, “ooops this is sooo, not what I thought it would be” contest. The sublimely ridiculous sock contest. This little sock ( snicker/snort)  would be the one you have to top. Anyone game? We could then create a Sock Photo Museum of these poor odd soles!

Anyone else with toe drops?

Gallery | August 25, 2008
By Juliet

The gumdrop pattern has been my absolute favorite of this year and last.  It is, to me, the perfect combination of interesting but not fussy.   Thank you so much JC Briar!  Nonetheless, I had to mess with it a little and I’m surprised I’m not seeing any other socks with the pattern on the toe.   I love how the lone gumdrop sticks forth from the strap of my Birkenstocks!
