anglel-January toe ?

January '08 Kit Questions | February 26, 2008
By Carolyn Angle

Hi everyone of you crazy rockin sock knitters. I am a first time rockin socker and I seem to be having some challenges with the size large pattern. I had trouble witht the count for the toe. I don’t see how you  get from 72 stitches to 76 stitches without increasing- anyway- Adjusting the pattern, I was able to make it work! Now I am having trouble with star toe. I am using the large size. How do you get from  76 stitches  to 66 with the decrease pattern in the directions for knit10, knit2together?  Can anoyone give a new rockin socker some help? Thanks much, Lynn

Yarnover at Beginning of Round

General Knitting Questions, January '08 Kit Questions | February 24, 2008
By Marlene

I’m making the medium sock on DPNs. I have 22 stitches on each DPN (2 lace repeats worth) to begin the lace. I see that round 1 of the lace pattern starts with a YO that seems like it would be tricky at the beginning of a round. Will this just work, or do I need to adjust the stitches somehow to avoid the YO as the first “stitch” of a new round? (This will happen 3 times in the round the way I have my stitches divided…)

Many of us are not members of Ravelry, and therefore cannot see the pictures that are being posted there. Flickr is a photo site that is accessible by anyone. So how about a Rockin’ Sock Club 2008 Flickr site again this year? Can someone set that up? I’d like to see all of your great lookin’ socks!ETA by Blog Mom Alice: This is the place to post your links and pictures. Looking forward to seeing some beautiful FO’s.

Something a bit different

January '08 Kit Questions | February 14, 2008
By Cindy Abernethy

For me, this yarn wanted to be something resembling fire. So I started experimenting and came up with a sock pattern that’s slowly progressing. Take a look and tel me what you think.

The January pattern is nice and I’ll probably use it with some other yarn at some point, but for me, this yarn wanted to be something different. :)

Heel Help - Size Large Method: 2 Circular Needles

January '08 Kit Questions | February 12, 2008
By birchtreemn@yahoo.com

First, this is my first sock and thank you in advance!I am at the heel and have 36 stitches on 1 Circ Needle and 36 stiches on the other circ.  The pattern states of heel…Work over 43 stsRow1 (RS): K38, w&t.Row 2P (P41), w&tDo I move 6 stitches from the end of the row to the needle? and then begin?  Or, do I keep 36 stitches, but then where do the other two come from? I’m sorta confused and am having trouble visualizing it.I read the heel help IM, but am still not understanding.  ANY guidance would be great.Thank you fellow sock knitters!!! I LOVE this pattern.

My special word is “Falror” on the inside of the yarn label…

By Karen Werme

Now I have looked this up and only find “a firefinder Artillery locating Radar” as a definition for ”falr”….any ideas out there what “Falror” is…maybe a firefinding dragon?I just had my yarn wound…Isn’t it beautiful.  I love seeing yarn when it is first wound, the colors change & the beauty comes out.Â
