Fraggle toe questions

I am having problems with my brain.

I’m making the medium size of the Fraggle rock pattern and I don’t understand how there can be 33 instep stitches given the patterns in play. At the end of the gusset there were 35 instep stitches and working to the end of the 4th round gives me 5 right squiggle, 7bubble stitch and surrounding purls, 10 squiggle lace, 7 bubble, 6 left squiggle — total of 35. Should I just omit the yo’s in the right and left squiggles?

Also, although I think I kind of get the concept behind the pattern toe, I don’t understand the directions. Can anyone rephrase in terms of the position at the beginning or end of the instep or sole sections? It says “next decrease” for both 2nd and 4th but shouldn’t one be done at the end of the instep/beg of sole and the other beg of instep, end of sole?

missing pages of Fraggle pattern?

My Fraggle pattern is missing pages 6 and 7.  Is this a page # type or am I missing 2 pages of the pattern? 

The bottom of my page 5 says “marker, SM, k2tog, knit to end of round - 2 fewer sole sts.”

The top of page 8 says “Repeat rouinds 1 and 2 until 29 (33, 37) sole sts remain…”

Any idea?

Number of stitches in heel setup? (Fraggle Squiggle)

I am making the small size, and I can’t figure out the instructions. The instructions say “size small only / K3, p1, k5, M1, k5, p1, k3, p1, M1, k4, turn….”
This counts to only 25 stitches. I have 30 stitches on each needle when I come to this. After this line, the instructions for the heel start with 31 stitches, knitting back and forth. I don’t understand this. Is there anyone who has done this and can explain this to me?
