2nd yr

Notorious Sock Knitters | January 17, 2008
By Patty

This is my 2nd yr in the club, but my first post. I love the yarn but was a little intimidated by the patterns and didn’t finish many socks last year.  I even took a sock class before the first shipment. I am determined to keep up this year. Have been reading about doing the socks on 2 circular needles, I’m not fond of dp. Has anyone done this? I was told that it is easy and the socks work up faster. Thanks, I enjoy reading everyone’s coments. Nice to be part of a group that is obsessed with fiber! Patty in Denver

I hope this doesn’t offend anyone

But, I think a change to the way members are posting to the blog would be very helpful.  Those members that use bloglines might agree.

The first year of the sock club, the blog was great.  Someone would post that their shipment arrived, and most of the members would add a comment that theirs arrived also.  Last year, that changed and instead of members adding a comment, they would add a new post.

Just today there were 18 new posts with members being excited about the new shipments.  For those of us who use bloglines….that looks like 18 new posts.

I guess what I am saying is that there is an easy way to clean up the blog and not have it be hard to weed through to find important posts.  I am not saying that everyone shouldn’t be excited….sheesh I can hardly stand waiting for the shipment next week.

I hope I haven’t offended anyone, but honestly, last year I quit reading the blog because of the volume of multiple posting on the same topic.  I would rather knit the beautiful yarn that we are all so lucky to receive!

Still recovering.

I’m still recovering from Tina asking me to be a Blog Mom. This may be like asking the cat to watch the mice. I’ll try to behave (what’s a have?) and answer questions and be encouraging.Welcome to all the new members! I think you’ll find this a fun and informative place to visit. Here’s a FYI Head’s Up to start with.If you don’t want to know what the kits look like in advance of receiving yours you may want to stay away from this site (and Ravelry) once you find out that Blue Moon has shipped the first kits. Some one usually gets all excited and immediately posts a picture of their kit. (Opps!) Someone here will try to catch those and move them to the “warning spoilage” category but that’s closing the barn door after the animals have escaped. (I think that’s one of my jobs as Blog Mom but they haven’t told me what all I’m expected to do yet.)Any way, I’m looking forward to another great year of Socks That Rock! Hope everyone enjoys the journey. Happy Knitting, Alice

This is wonderful to read all the posts about how excited we all are to be part of  a group who are looking forward to knitting socks. Socks, and we are all this excited.  My heart spins  when I read all the posts to know that I am not the only one who is waiting for the mail-carrier!

I am happy to be part of this years group.
