Rosebud question

So I just got to my first rosebud and I’ve tried it a few times but it just doesn’t look right.  When you draw the loop of yarn forward through the fabric - is that just like knitting a stitch?  Or are you supposed to draw it through somewhere lower?  Any advice?

Do socks without ribbing stay up?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the March package.  The yarn is gorgeous and the pattern??? Well, I suspected that anything by the Yarn Harlot would be fantastic.   And I’m right.  Can’t wait to start but I’m hesitant.  Anyone have experience about how well socks without ribbing stay up?  I usually extend ribbing on socks to ensure they remain confortable to wear.  But I love the top on these!  I guess I could just dive in….

Fingerless Mitts

After much ripping, re-knitting and Tina’s discovery of the matching beads at Madrona. (Silly me, left mine at home, thanks again Tina!!!) I now have my fingerless mitts out of the Jan 2009 club yarn  I knew I wouldn’t wear beaded socks and the pattern cried out to be mitts.  I’m not the best at modifying patterns so I’m impressed that they actually fit!  This is also my first beaded project so there was a small learning curve.  I  made a short cuff because I hate stuffing cuffs under my coat sleeves.
