Heel Help - Size Large Method: 2 Circular Needles

January Kit Questions | February 12, 2008
By Wendy Larson

First, this is my first sock and thank you in advance!I am at the heel and have 36 stitches on 1 Circ Needle and 36 stiches on the other circ.  The pattern states of heel…Work over 43 stsRow1 (RS): K38, w&t.Row 2P (P41), w&tDo I move 6 stitches from the end of the row to the needle? and then begin?  Or, do I keep 36 stitches, but then where do the other two come from? I’m sorta confused and am having trouble visualizing it.I read the heel help IM, but am still not understanding.  ANY guidance would be great.Thank you fellow sock knitters!!! I LOVE this pattern.

STR vs. Koigu KPPPM Gauge

Notorious Sock Knitters | February 11, 2008
By Marlene

Hi -

I’ve knit a lot of socks on US 1 needles with Koigu KPPPM.  I know that a 56-stitch sock is a bit snug and a 64-stitch sock is about right. How does Koigu compare to STR? If it’s comparable, I will probably knit the medium size sock.

Having said that, I don’t know if a 64-stitch sock with a plain 2×2 ribbed cuff is really comparable to the pattern in the kit.

I realize I should bite the bullet and do a gauge swatch, but if I can just extrapolate from previous sock knitting, that would be nice!

Any input on this?

 Thanks,

Marlene

Now I have looked this up and only find “a firefinder Artillery locating Radar” as a definition for ”falr”….any ideas out there what “Falror” is…maybe a firefinding dragon?I just had my yarn wound…Isn’t it beautiful.  I love seeing yarn when it is first wound, the colors change & the beauty comes out.

Blockin’ Sockin’?

General Knitting Questions | February 09, 2008
By NewarkKnitter

Not a panic question here at all, but one I really would love to find out more about.  What is the prevailing wisdom on blocking socks?  Using those cute wooden paddles?  Does blocking last beyond a first wash?  I’ve not really found any information on this yet even in my sock pattern books.  Thought this would be the place to find out!  Back to knitting for now.  Yours, Jabberwocky in NJ.

Heel Shape

January Kit Questions | February 08, 2008
By Laura

I finished the heel and it looks very very triangular to me. I’ve never knitted a pair that looks so triangular so I am wondering if I did something wrong. Is this the shape everyone else is getting? (I am at the point where you are about to start the foot. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
