new and nervous

Notorious Sock Knitters | January 19, 2008
By Pam Kanthor

I am so excited about doing this but was wondering from others about how hard the patterns are.  I noticed some people are blogging that some of the patterns last year were overwhelming.  I’ve been knitting for over 20 years (gosh that makes me sound old) but usually use hand died yarns that are beautiful so they don’t need a lot of pattern work.

Will we be able to ask for help here?  Can’t wait for the first package to come ;-)

Advice - Finish last year’s first? Or keep up to date?

Notorious Sock Knitters | January 18, 2008
By Cathoo

Hi everyone!

I’m very bad, I didn’t finish most of last year’s kits. (There were good reasons, like wanting to graduate and such) I only fully finished the first one, and I’m very close to finishing the second one

Would it be better to finish last year’s socks first? Or should I finish the one I’m working on now really fast and just start fresh with this year?

Commenting and Posting

Announcements | January 17, 2008
By Tina

It would be most helpful when you are responding to a post to hit comment and put your response there and not to create another post.

It keeps the blog easy to read and navigate.

I think we were all excited yesterday and testing our logins. Which is great! Going forward, though, let’s all try to be respectful of each other’s time and give some thought to whether we really need to start a new post, or if what we want to say is actually a response to an existing one. For instance, if you wanted to weigh in on whether I’m being too bossy trying to dictate when you should post and when you should comment, the place to do that would be in a comment on this post!

The other benefit to commenting on a post rather than starting a new one is that when one of us searches for particular topic, it is all there in one place under that heading. Otherwise each of these posts expressing your excitement and greetings from today and yesterday show individually as their own topic. A whole lot to navigate.

Thank you Lynae for bringing this up. Susie and I were talking this morning about this and ways to remedy it. Ideas are welcome.

I also know that there are those that would prefer a different format and I am sorry. As I have said many times it is not possible to make everyone happy.

We have done our best to create something that I feel will work very well once we have gotten out feet wet. Which is also the best way to block socks!!

thanks

Sock Camp

I’m a freshman who has signed on for sock camp.  Can anyone offer me any insights to planning the adventure of my dreams? (still can’t believe DH went for this one!)
