Met another Notorious Sock Knitter yesterday

I was standing in line yesterday afternoon to see the Edward Hopper exhibit at the National Gallery of Art (Washington, DC) and knitting on my Emergency Sock Project (basic toe-up Austermann Step sock on a 12″ Addi circular–it’s the project I keep in the car for when I’m stuck in traffic or in a line) when a lady came up and asked what I was making. I answered, “A sock, and I made the ones I’m wearing.” She said, “So did I!” and proceeded to show me a lovely pair of Summer of Love Lace anklets. I squeed and said, “Rockin’ Sock Club!” We had a lovely “Yes, I’m signed up for and excited about the ‘08 club” moment, then my line moved and she was gone.
Anyhow, Hi! to the nice lady, and I hope to see you here on the message board. This reminds me again that it would be fun to have a Rockin’ get together in northern Virginia/DC/Maryland. I’m not finished all of last year’s socks YET (too much Christmas knitting, plus I had to steal the needles from *my* Summer of Love for a pair of Valentine’s Day socks), but as soon as the V-Day socks are done, I’m going to get my GPA up.

We are going to start shipping this week.
Tuesday ( Monday being a holiday) is scheduled for the international packages. We can only send the ones that have payed.We have sent Paypal invoices and reminders that are not being responded to. Please check your Paypal accounts and let us know one way or the other.
Along those same lines if you have been contacted by us either by phone or email regarding your CC please contact us.
If we do not hear from those of members that are unpaid and contacted by January 25 th. We will assume you are no longer interested and will make your spot available.
The Canadian charges were run this weekend and should show early this week.
We will be here on Monday to answer the phone and email and … .

I am so excited about doing this but was wondering from others about how hard the patterns are. I noticed some people are blogging that some of the patterns last year were overwhelming. I’ve been knitting for over 20 years (gosh that makes me sound old) but usually use hand died yarns that are beautiful so they don’t need a lot of pattern work.
Will we be able to ask for help here? Can’t wait for the first package to come
